Germany — The German Westlake rallyeteam Lambert/Hennen achieved top 5 amongst 51 teams during the 11. Bosch Vino Miglia Classic Rallye, and was the best car in total on first day.
This event is one of the hardest classic rallyes in Europe with about 2000 kilometers of rallye in eight days with timed sections where the teams have to pass to the exact tenth of a second.
Started in Neustadt near Speyer in the very southwest of Germany, the track leads in four days via Austria to Merano in Italy where a 24 hour break is organized. After that short relaxing time for cars and drivers, the rallye starts again through Austria, Switzerland, the Black Forest in Germany, crosses the river Rhine into France to reach the finish line again in Neustadt/Germany. Only 42 cars overall out of 51 reached the chequered flag in Neustadt.
Driver Sylke Lambert and navigator Jan Hennen, both are tyre testing drivers for ZC Rubber in Germany, reached a fantastic 5th place amongst a lot of very powerful Porsches, Mercedes, Jaguar and other brands with their Volvo P 210 Duett from 1968. “The Westlake SW 608 tyres in 185/65 R 15 worked once again very well and gave us at every time a good feeling of security”, Sylke Lambert says satisfied at the finish line.
“There is a lot of interest in Westlake tyres for classic vehicles, so we will push the informations for those end consumers who have mostly more than 5 vehicles in their garages”, Jan Hennen declares. “These events are an effective and sympathetic stage to get in contact with potential clients for the Westlake brand.
